INTERVIEW: in my authentic mystic

interview from August 19th, 2024 at 3:13pm
jazz speaks with sam from b.v.b. magazine on life as a mystic, living as a vegan,, choosing love as currency, hobbies and forward movement through transformation.

sam: in the last two years, what has life been like for you?

jazz: life has been an explosion of vulnerability and valuable experiences.  forever looking at the glass half full & knowing that in any situation, there's always a bigger picture.  i've learned what it's like to love and lose. i've had to heal so much trauma and guilt over the past two years, it feels like i've finally come into the version of myself i've always wanted to be. a mystic. in love with myself. unafraid. free

sam: what does freedom feel like? what's a mystic? are you ever afraid when traveling?

jazz: i was actually thinking of this today on my walk & i take nina's words and use them in complete agreement, "freedom, to me, means no fear!"  when i'm operating in my highest vibration, freedom is confidence, self-love, individuality - a moral compass that is unwavering. as a mystic, i am the manifestation of my wildest dreams. i am a nomad on a spiritual journey fighting for my voice to be heard in my own way, at my own pace. i love when a traveling opportunity brings about an instant reaction of fear, that's usually my que that it's the right move/choice/decision. & fear becomes courage as long as you continue forward. i love using positive affirmations and different manifestation techniques whenever i feel like fear wants to knock me off my balance and lead the way.

sam: favorite affirmations on a challenging day?

jazz: i am beautiful, i am loving, i am powerful. i am smart. i am sweet. i am kind. i can do anything.

sam: what's your go-to manifestation spell whenever you want to feel powerful?

jazz: i love speaking as if it's already done. for example, "thank you god for allowing me to experience this new & beautiful love in my life." although i'm currently single in 3D, i know that spirit is preparing me to experience a love i've never known and i like to express my gratitude.  it helps me feel grounded and full, this is great for my root chakra opening, unblocking & aligning.

sam: what does it look like? freedom, i mean. does it have a look?

jazz: freedom is art. very personal. very fragile. freedom requires authenticity and standing for something greater than self.  an example of the world you wish to see. so, then, yes... it does have a look. you'll always know it when you see it because the glow is unique to its owner.

sam: do the people from your past personal relationships treat you differently?

jazz: to be honest, i wouldn't know. i've been in a complete isolation mode as of late and am truly enjoying the peace and lessons that come with self-reflection and introspection. no one has my number & i have no one's number. when it's time to ascend, for me, i release to receive. if this includes people i once knew, then so be it. i do know that it's time for me to welcome in new energy, so i'm looking forward to the relationships God is bringing into my life.

sam: how has being vegan expanded your concept/perspective of spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, intellectual life longevity?

jazz: at first, being vegan was a mental test. i wanted to see if i had the capacity to endure temptation on a frequent basis and continue to pursue my quest of no meat, no dairy. this was it. growing up in texas, meat is a huge part of the breakfast, lunch & dinner plate and i wanted to understand my attachment to this way of eating.  then, i began to experience positive affects in my body.  i was better able to digest food and understand what foods made me feel more energized and/or lazy.  it was an awakening of its own. - food having an effect on the way i think, speak and act - i am grateful to my ancestors for pouring into me the recipes that have helped me appreciate a vegan way of life and how it opens me to the connection i share with the spiritual realm.  if we commit to healing ourselves, we automatically commit to healing the world. and what an amazing place we will be in then.

sam: so, this has nothing to do with animal cruelty?

jazz: it didn't start off that way.  then, one day, spirit places 'skinny bitch: a no-nonsense, tough-love guide for savvy girls who want to stop eating crap and start looking fabulous' in my path and as i'm reading, i'm discovering all the ways in which animals are treated for the meat i used to love to eat.  it was an eye-opener and it completely changed my perspective and reasons for remaining vegan. as i've continued to heal and open my heart chakra, i'm realizing that i'm much more sensitive to and aware of the ways in which i treat all living things.  i saw a few clips on instagram that showed some of what happens to the animals in the slaughterhouses and even during transport. it's wicked and cruel and once you see it, you can't un-know it. veganism is the only way to truly save the planet.

sam: are you truly living off the land? what does that look like on a daily basis? do you fast?

jazz: i am truly living off the land. i do not have a permanent or temporary address. i sleep in the comfort & protection of the moon and live a 90% raw vegan lifestyle. the other 10% is for my plantain chips or the occasional plant based sweet treat. i like to fast when God leads me to it.  i'll usually receive a message of some sort hinting at the possibility, then a more forward message letting me know a fast is necessary. i typically fast for 3 days.  the weather conditions determine my amount of water consumption.

sam: what is "KICK, PUSH, SCREAM" are you excited to tell your story? are you nervous? & how do you process the complexity of your emotions?

jazz: kick, push, scream is an autobiography. my life has been a movie and my survival has been noteworthy.  now, i'm living in my authentic mystic energy and i feel inspired to inspire others. that's why i feel it's important to tell my story.  it may not reach all.  it will reach who it must.  i'm excited for the possibilities.  i'm only nervous when re-reading and correcting my drafts lol.  nature plays a huge roll in my being able to balance my emotions.  i do alot of barefoot walking in the grass and meditation under the moon and stars.  i sun gaze often and practice tree hugging.  i also love the calm i experience sitting near a water stream.  i tend to feel relief and comfort in these practices.

sam: love as currency. please feel free to expound

jazz: money needs us to spend it. and we cling to it. worship it, even.  the pursuit of collecting as much money as possible consumes us and pulls us apart from one another.  i traveled to portugal and found myself penniless and alone at the end of my journey.  i was led to a safe space through the signs and synchronicities i was receiving and was able to find refuge with angels placed strategically along my path.  i had no tangible currency. no phone, no electronics, nothing luxurious whatsoever and i was in a headspace filled with exhaustion.  all i had to offer was myself. my kindness, my heart and hope that in return - have faith that- they'd see my soul and allow me to barter with love. that's when i understood that love is its own form of currency and so very easily accessible

sam: wow. that sounds scary and affirming simultaneously. i couldn't imagine being stranded somewhere and not knowing the language. did you just know you'd be ok?

jazz: i didn't know anything. that was the beauty of it and the fear. i had to trust that everything i'd been learning up to that point would ensure i'd be taken care of.  it was a test of my ability to co-create the life i desire and really trust and have faith that that'd be exactly what would come to fruition. i remember being in tears on one of my walks to the main office for lunch, but i kept on walking and kept on manifesting. it was all about thoughts, words and actions aligning for the best possible outcome.

sam: what are some of your hobbies, favorite movies, tv shows, books. what are you currently reading? do you receive messages through books?

jazz: i am currently reading 'face the fire' by nora roberts. i've become a huge fan of her work lately. whenever spirit has a message for me, i'll usually have the pleasure of discovering it through my favorite pastime which is books. books usually foreshadow.  i enjoy long walks, i love hiking, adventure, plane rides, climbing trees, listening to music, dancing in the rain, sports, writing & reading.  favorite movies off the top of my head: love jones, boomerang, the sandlot, inkwell, girl 6, golden child and their eyes were watching god. i love all of jasmine guillory.

sam: forward movement through transformation. what does this mean for your cause? is this your life purpose and the legacy you wish to leave for the generations that follow?

jazz: women have the ability to transform mind, body & soul. it's our gift.  i truly believe in the power of transformation and allowing it to penetrate the human experience with mighty force, enabling change and the opportunity to live life as our highest and best selves. butterfly kitchen, my non-profit vegan soup kitchen, is a testament to my vision of food justice and eradicating hunger worldwide.  welcome h.o.m.e. houses individuals in need, ending worldwide homelessness.  we implement wellness programs, therapy and living options that enable all to truly return to civilization healed and changed for the better.  the purpose is to love as jesus loved and to elevate the consciousness of humanity, so that we all unify and begin to once again live in harmony.

sam: good luck with your efforts. i'm rooting for you. thank you for taking this time to chat with me.

jazz: i'm excited to take all that i've learned and finally put it into practice. thank you for having me. peace, love & light
